The Team

David Lamb

David Lamb started working in Financial Services with Provident Mutual, as a Supernumerary in 1985. A year later he joined the Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd. as a District Agent, advising on life assurance, pensions, investments and general insurance. In 1989 he joined Scottish Mutual as a broker consultant servicing IFAs, accountants and solicitors on behalf of the Society.

In 1992 he formed Lamb and Associates. David’s qualifications are in business and finance, financial planning and taxation and trusts. His main role within Brighter Pink is Managing Director, business development and strategic financial planning.

Bill Marshall

Bill Marshall started in the Financial Services Industry in 1985 in Glasgow, when he joined Commercial Union as a Trainee Broker Consultant. He moved to Newcastle in 1986, and shortly after became a qualified Broker Consultant, servicing IFAs, accountants and solicitors.

In 1994, Bill joined Lamb and Associates as a financial advisor. He has qualifications in financial planning, mortgage advice, taxation and trusts, and holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate.

As well as advising clients Bill is a qualified supervisor for training and competence and is responsible for ensuring that other members of Brighter Pink’s staff are compliant with the FSA’s regulations.

Samantha Dickson

Samantha Dickson joined Scottish Mutual in 1988 as an administrator. In 1993 she joined Arthur Anderson, and became a mortgage adviser in 1996. Two years later Samantha moved to Reeds Rains Estate Agents. In 2004 Sam joined Lamb and Associates, with the responsibility of managing its mortgage service.

Samantha is qualified in financial planning and mortgage advice.

James Roberston

After gaining his degree in 1987, James joined Clerical Medical as a broker consultant.

James left Clerical Medical in 1990 and spent the next ten years working for two IFAs and managing the Financial Services Department for a firm of solicitors.

In 2000 James established his own IFA firm and joined Lamb and Associates in 2004.

James has advanced qualifications in Taxation and Trusts, Personal Investment Planning, Pensions, Retirement Options, Pensions Investment Planning and Investment Portfolio Management. He is also a Member of the College of Teachers, the Treasurer of the Sunderland and North Durham Royal Society for the Blind and works with the University of Tampere, Finland.

Derek Oldfield

Derek Oldfield is the team’s will writer, joining in 2005. After working 20 years for Barclays Bank in many varied roles, Derek decided on a change of career. In 1996 he qualified in Willwriting with the Institute of Professional Willwriters, and has provided an ongoing personal service to clients ever since.

Derek is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers and a Member of the Institute of Professional Willwriters. He undertakes continuous professional development to ensure that his clients receive up to date advice which is so important with ever-changing legislation.
